Packed up early to head back.  Looked around in the daylight to see where we really ended up from the long day before...

After taking 1 more jump in the ocean at the marina, we had some of our friends fill the boat with gas and perform the final dock of the Albinoni at the base!

Spent the day at the Hawaiki Nui hotel

Day 9 (Wed) - Tupai

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Back at sea again today...

Shoveling sand by hand (good winter job in Bora).
Raising the sails.

Rough water in the open seas which was way cool (at least for the passengers)!              Made for a wet ride on the trampoline
Headin to Tupai:

Saw through the passe's to the inner island of Tupai -- gorgeous lagoon...

Rode the wind back past Bora in the direction of Tahaa.  After some long tacking, we motored into Tahaa (many zzzzzzzz's were taken on this trip)...

Arrived after dark at Tahaa.  Challenging using the GPS, markers, and our memory of the passe to get back into the lagoon.  Once inside, we had further challenges with some of the markers no longer being lit.  With Cary's GPS tracking and many scouts on the front of the boat, we arrived at an excellent anchorage!!!

Loooonnnngggg day sailing/motoring (56+++ miles).  Wore the Captain out, he needs to be rebooted...

Day 8 (Tue) - The Coral Garden

Tuesday, June 25,2013

Getting going in the AM...

In search of Cary's perfect snorkeling spot today:-)

More outrigger races in Viatape

What do Marshmallow's and Jet Ski's have in common Chels????

There were many boats and snorkelers  marking the Coral Gardens when we first arrived (it was nice of them to show us the correct spot!)

Didn't take much to scare them off and the
Aquarium/Coral Gardens was all ours

Great snorkeling:
  Tons 'O Fish!!!
    Tons O' Coral!!!
      Tons 'O Current!!!

This WAS the PERFECT Snorkeling Spot!!

BEST EVER!!!

A bit shallow here...

Dinghyd to the Motu Tofari
Walked through the "jungle" and checked out the beach on the Pacific side

The jungle had many cool trees and minimal head-hunters

Saw many hermit crabs, sea slugs.  The beach was made up of tons of coral.

Cool views of the East side of the Bora reef!

Found Kyle's bike on the way back!!!

The wind is back!!!

Played light ball on -- whoops -- off the back of the boat...
